Our Partners are individuals, businesses, organizations, institutions and working groups committed to furthering compassionate engagement and conduct in society among members of the global LGBTQ family. We embrace multiple intersections of interest, spirituality, expertise, and the many ways that people can galvanize compassionate work in community with others.
We envision a world in which members of the LGBTQ community lead their local communities of interest with compassion as a way of life, enhancing the health, security, safety and well-being of the greater global LGBTQ family, friends and world around us.
Honoring the universal values and principles expressed in the Charter for Compassion, the Partners’ purpose is to energize engagement, mutual learning and collaboration by individuals and civic leaders in support of respectful relationships, just economies and sustainable peace, enhancing the health and well-being of the greater global LGBTQ community.
Courage: We are committed to courageous conversations and actions that expand the depth and reach of compassion.
Creative learning: We are committed to ongoing learning and creative exploration that enables the reflection and open-hearted mutuality of compassion.
Empathy: We are committed to learning how to “walk in another’s shoes” and to encouraging the same walk for others, so that compassion is valued, visible, and central to community lie.
Equality: We are guided by a deep commitment to social equality -- as noted in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a belief in the “the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family as the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.”
Integrity: We hold ourselves to high standards and are ever-mindful of the need to synchronize our actions and words. We conscientiously steward the trust and resources given to us.
Interdependence: We affirm that human beings are a part of and deeply interconnected with the natural world, and know that the sustainability of Earth as we know it relies on our attention to the wholeness of our relationships with self, others, and our natural habitat.
Respect: We are committed to being open to others and receptive to diversity, listening in a spirit of discovery, appreciation and kindness.
Partnering is open to individuals, businesses, organizations, and institutions that identify with our vision, purpose, values and intentions, and wish to contribute in congruent ways.
Partners may optionally, decide to participate actively by providing social connections, financial support, organizational support, and/or organizing energy.
Support for, or participation in, specific initiatives is completely optional. We will not engage in direct political actions or dialogue except in the case of a core focus: eg. creating compassionate cities / communities or presenting at the United Nations and similar gatherings.
