GetaVision is the media arm of Metropolitan Community Charities, leveraging media, technology and partnerships to encourage compassionate action among LGBTQ people around the world.
GetaVision was created in 2010 to develop deeper connections with others while cultivating unconditional love & acceptance, peace & security, health & wellness, along with enhanced self-respect & pride. A few of the events from 2010 - 2015:
How it started
The idea for GetaVision came to me when I was recovering from a life-threatening battle with HIV/AIDS and stage 4 cancer.
It seemed like my entire life had been pulled apart and the only thing left was the love that pulled me through. Things which seemed so important to me before that fight simply vanished, along with material things I had valued for so long. And I lost my vision for my life and the path ahead.
GetaVision was to be a way to help others -- and myself -- find a deeper purpose and vision for their lives.
While the focus has changed a bit over the past few years, the vision has alway been on helping each other to live the best and healthiest lives ever!
Now, as the media arm of Metropolitan Community Charities, GetaVision is developing the infrastructure to enable us to carry our community's collective voice in proclaiming "we are not afraid anymore."
